John Muir Elementary Foundation
Our Mission
The mission of John Muir Elementary Foundation (JMEF), is to provide funds to enrich, maintain, and expand educational programs, with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Music (STEAM), that offer opportunities for all students to learn and to become responsible and productive citizens.
Who We Are
- A 501 (c) (3) nonprofit tax-exempt philanthropic organization
- An independent registered community-based corporation incorporated on April 20, 2015
Our Purpose
- To benefit our students and staff by supporting activities not funded by tax dollars
- To foster creative approaches to education through innovative grants and student scholarships
- To increase private support for educational activities at John Muir Elementary
- To increase parent involvement and support at John Muir Elementary
Our Results
- Since 2018, we’ve raised over $195,000 to support our school
- Provided Chromebooks for classrooms
- Launched music class as part of curriculum for all TK– 3rd grade students
- Coordinated installation of a school garden
- Fund and coordinate a year-round garden-based science program
Our Fundraising Goals
- Continue to support our Garden Program and our TK to 3rd grade Music Program
- Incorporate and build on other STEAM based enrichment programs
- Raise awareness within the community of JMEF’s mission
- Seek grants and community sponsorship to support our school and mission.
